“Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.”
Sarah Hays joins our Lexington office after eight years as a Staff Attorney at the Kentucky Court of Appeals. At the Court, Sarah gained invaluable experience with a wide variety of case law and an extensive background in appellate procedure. Her familiarity with both case law and procedure enables her to be a strong and knowledgeable advocate for a broad range of clients involved in the appellate process.
Sarah works in both the firm’s litigation and workers’ compensation departments. She assists partner Scott White, who leads the firm’s civil and criminal law practice, focusing on white collar crimes, complex divorce proceedings, and other litigation matters. In her workers’ compensation practice, Sarah uses a pragmatic and realistic approach in advocating for her clients, as she weighs options for best outcomes.
A native of Woodford County, Sarah is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English, followed by a Juris Doctor at the University Of Kentucky College Of Law. During law school, she served on the Kentucky Innocence Project, both as a student and as a student advisor, and assisted on several high profile cases. Prior to her work at the Court of Appeals, Sarah was an associate attorney at Kriz, Jenkins, Prewitt & Jones, P.S.C. In her free time, Sarah enjoys volunteering for her children’s many activities; hiking and other outdoor activities; and traveling.
